Werner Kopisch-Pasté operates the Institute’s graphical department as a working junction between observation and physical record. Images arrive as uncertain material and leave as scans, proofs, labelled outputs and archive copies whose differences can be inspected rather than remembered.

His work favours evidence before aesthetics, without accepting the false premise that evidence must be ugly. Old reprographic machinery, current workstations and whichever cable still carries the signal are kept in one continuous production chain.

REPROGRAPHIC PRINCIPLE · DUPLICATION REQUIRED

“One copy is an image. Two copies are evidence.”

If it cannot be reproduced, it has not yet been properly observed.

Source-to-archive chain · comparison remains mandatory
